  • May: Complete The Calendar (and EDIM)

Ride alone or participate as a DUO. As a DUO you will combine your daily mileage with that of your partner. GOGO will do the matchmaking. You might make a friend halfway around the world! If you’re up for it, ride Every Day In May (EDIM) and earn individual bonus points.

Ride daily mileage equal to (or greater than) a numerical calendar day to fill in a calendar date. You do not have to complete calendar days in order: 1 mile on the 1st, 2 miles on the 2nd, 3 miles on the 3rd and so forth. Instead, fill your calendar in any order: If you GO 35 miles on May 1st, you’ll fill in the spot for May 31st. If you ride 20 miles on May 1st, you will fill in the date for May 20th. If you ride 20 miles again, you will fill in the largest unfilled number below 20: if May 19th and 18th are filled but the 17th is not, you’ll fill the May 17th slot.

Helpful Hint: Save the low milage calendar days for last or for days when work/school/life necessitates quicker, low mileage rides.

You earn 5 points for each calendar day filled in for a maximum of 155 calendar points. E.g. 31 days yields 155 points (31 x 5), while 20 days yields 100 (20 x 5). If you have a partner, you each earn the points.

To be eligible for May points, a rider must ride at least 25 total miles during the month.

    Bonus point opportunities:

    • complete your calendar: 10 points
    • choose a Duo Team Name: 5 points
    • EDIM Bonus: Any rider who rides at least 1 mile each day of the month will earn bonus points based on total mileage as follows:

      • 496+ miles: 40 points
      • 248+ miles: 25 points
      • 62+ miles: 10 points

In addition, register for Bike for Humanity, make a $25 donation, and ride at least 15 miles on May 1 to earn 20 additional May GOGO points. Bike for Humanity’s May 1 event will raise funds for Free Bikes 4 Kidz and the challenge of putting a million bikes in the hands of underserved youth. During registration make sure to indicate that you are part of Team ElliptiGO!

  • June: Celebrate World Bike Day

Getting your first ElliptiGO and learning how to ride it is a rite of passage for all of us. In the hustle and bustle of today’s world, GOing allows us to exercise our muscles, cut back on fuel consumption, and feel the wind in our hair. There is nothing quite like the exhilaration of GOing.

World Bike Day, June 3, 2021, celebrates the durability and longevity of the bicycle — in all its forms. Cycling provides a simple and sustainable means of transportation, is rejuvenating for our physical and mental health, and good for the economy and the environment.

June’s GOventure celebrates cycling. Points from each category may be combined in any way to earn a maximum of 150 points:

    • 1 point for every 10 miles cumulative distance.

    • 1 point for every 250 feet cumulative elevation gain.
    • 10 points for each single ride over 20 miles
    • 10 points for each single ride over 1500 feet of elevation gain

And finally, earn up to 30 additional points in recognition of World Bike Day: select one ride between June 1st and June 6th and earn 5 points for putting #worldbikeday in the title and then accumulate 1 point per mile up to 25 miles for that ride.

Properly measured trainer rides are permitted, but will be credited
with no elevation. Credit for manual entries (no GPS track outdoors, no speed sensor indoors) is limited to 5 miles per day.

  • July Quad Adventure & IECD

July’s adventure will build on the team work developed in May looking toward September’s Team Challenge. This month also features International Elliptical Cycling Day (IECD).

We will pair May Duos into Quads for this adventure. If you were not part of a Duo and want to be part of a Quad, you’ll be able to opt in and we will place you into a team. If you were part of a duo and elect to opt out, you will have that opportunity.

    Riding points for all participants:

    • 10 points: Ride 10 calendar days OR 100 miles OR 1,000 feet
    • 25 points: Ride 10 calendar days, 150 miles, and 4,500 feet
    • 50 points: Ride 15 calendar days, 225 miles, and 6,750 feet
    • 75 points: Ride 20 calendar days, 300 miles, and 9,000 feet
    • 100 points: Ride 23 calendar days, 400 miles, and 11,000 feet

Note: A minimum of 2 miles is needed to count as a day of riding.

Bonus points available for solo riders (riders not on a Quad team)

    • 10 points: Ride 15 calendar days, 225 miles, and 6,750 feet
    • 15 points: Ride 20 calendar days, 300 miles, and 9,000 feet
    • 20 points: Ride 23 calendar days, 400 miles, and 11,000 feet

Bonus points available for riders on a Quad team

As part of a Quad, you’ll share your rides with your team to reach point plateaus for additional points. Yes, your team’s mileage and elevation are combined toward your team goal. The days total is the total number of days on which at least one Quad member rides two or more miles. Communication within your team will be instrumental to your group’s success!

    Bonus points available:

    • 5 points: name your Quad
    • 10 points: ride 15 calendar days, 375 miles, and 7,500 feet
    • 20 points: ride 20 calendar days, 750 miles, and 15,000 feet
    • 30 points: ride 25 calendar days, 1100 miles, and 22,500 feet
    • 40 points: ride 30 calendar days, 1500 miles, and 30,000 feet

Example: Should a Quad ride 25 calendar days, 1100 miles, and 15000 feet, each eligible member would get 20 additional points (they did not achieve enough elevation gain to earn 30 points).

To be eligible for Quad-based points, a rider must achieve the 10 point riding plateau: ride 10 calendar days OR 100 miles OR 1,000 feet

July 10, International Elliptical Cycling Day: IECD marks the 17th anniversary of ElliptiGO co-founders Bryan Pate, CEO, and Brent Teal, CTO, formalizing their partnership to develop the world’s first elliptical bicycle in July 2005. Ride any distance on IECD and receive 1 pt per mile up to 25 miles.

Properly measured trainer rides are permitted, but will be credited
with no elevation. Credit for manual entries (no GPS track outdoors, no speed sensor indoors) is limited to 5 miles per day.
