Plan to enjoy some competition and ElliptiGO community fun at the first GERC Century, ≈16-Mile Time Trial, and 6-Hour Team Championships at Calvins Challenge on May 16, 2026, in Springfield, Ohio.
The GERC Championships will be held in conjunction with well-known, long-standing ultracycling event Calvins Challenge. Participants in the GERC Championships will be eligible for GOGO organized ride and #state points (as appropriate). GERC Championships at Calvins Challenge participation and champion awards will be given in addition to those provided by Calvins Challenge.
How to participate in the GERC Championships at Calvins Challenge:
- Ensure that you are a member of GERC for 2026 (you can join or renew your membership in GERC at https://elliptigoclub.org/join/).
- Decide which GERC Championships at Calvins Challenge event (Century, Time Trial, or 6-Hour Team) in which you wish to participate.
- Go to the Calvins Challenge registration page: https://www.bikereg.com/calvins-challenge-2026
- If you have decided to ride in the Century, register for the “100 Mile Drafting Allowed” event. Riders in this event will complete 15 laps of the 6.8 mile loop.
If you have decided to ride in the Time Trial, register for the “16-Mile Time Trial” event. Riders in this event will complete a loop of 15-20 miles (the route and exact distance are being revised and will be posted in the “Event Notes” of the Calvins Challenge registration page).
If you have decided to ride in the 6-Hour Team event, register you and your teammates in the “6-Hour Drafting Allowed Team (2-to-8)” event. The listed registration fee is per rider. For the GERC Championships at Calvins Challenge, teams in this event consist of 2 or 3 riders, with the exception that teams who seek Mixed Gender (woman/man) and Mixed Bike Type (long-stride/SUB) honors consist of 2 riders. Riders on a given team can share a single ElliptiGO if they so choose. - Forward your Calvins Challenge registration email message to gercchamps@elliptigoclub.org.
- Come to Ohio in May and enjoy a ride on farmland roads with minimal automobile traffic.

Note: Calvins Challenge is run under the auspices of the World Ultra Cycling Association (WUCA), an organization associated with many long-distance competitive cycling events and receptive to participation of ElliptiGO riders. The GERC Century, Time Trial, and 6-Hour Team Challenge provide a new competitive ElliptiGO event that is different in style and both geographically and temporally distanced from the Elliptical Cycling World Championships held at Mt. Palomar, CA, each fall.
