Join us on Saturday, Oct. 17th, 2020 in Rochester, Michigan, for a day of fun during the beautiful autumn harvest. To accommodate all levels, there will be a choice of three different rides – 18, 31, or 62 miles – taking us past several local apple cider mills on rail trails and neighborhood and scenic country roads.

  • $10 insurance fee for non-members

Rentals: Participants must provide their own ElliptiGO/bike or make arrangements to borrow or rent one. Rentals will not be provided or coordinated by GERC.

Group rides: All levels welcome; no rider left behind!! Each of the three ride groups will have a lead GO and a sweep GO. There will be a SAG vehicle available to assist if necessary.

This is a self-supported ride. Please bring water, extra tube, tools and make sure your GO is ready to ride.

6:45-10:00AM: Michigan Harvest Tour

We’ll begin the day with apple cider and donuts at our starting point. The three ride routes all follow established rail trail bike paths of the Clinton River and Macomb Orchard Trails. The rail trails are mostly flat as participants pass through canopied tree sections as well as apple orchards and farming communities that accentuate the harvest atmosphere. All routes will also include the Stony Metro Park Loop, a six mile path with rolling, gentle hills that offers beautiful views as it circumnavigates Stony Lake.

There will be rest stops stocked with water, Gatorade, nutritional bars, and bananas. Public restrooms are available on all three routes.

Paint Creek Tavern

The Paint Creek Tavern (known by locals as the Paint Creek Yacht Club) is in a
historic building along the Paint Creek Trail, convenient to the ride finish location. The menu offers a variety of appetizers, salads, and sandwiches, including more than 15 different burgers. A section on the outdoor patio deck overlooking Paint Creek has been reserved for our group.

8:00AM-1:00PM (optional) Michigan offers some of the most breathtaking views and scenery during the fall harvest season and what better way to experience the splendor of autumn than to enjoy it On The GO while visiting a number of local cider mills. This casual 30-mile, no-drop ride will take ElliptiGO enthusiasts on rail trails, scenic country roads, and through local neighborhoods as they visit no less than six local area cider mills.
