Pre-registration is required:

  • Free for GERC members
  • If you are not already a GERC member, registration for this event will also initiate a free three-month trial Club membership.

Group ride: All levels welcome; no rider left behind!! The group will have a lead GO and a sweep GO. This is a self-supported ride. Please bring water, extra tube, tools and make sure your GO is ready to ride.
Rentals: Participants must provide their own ElliptiGO or make their own arrangements to borrow or rent one. Rentals will not be provided or coordinated by GERC.

8:45-9:15AM: Riders gather at our meet-up location:

There is free parking nearby along both sides of Amalfi St. See this map for short walking directions from the parking area to Eric’s home.

9:15AM-11:30AM: 18.9 mile group ride.

The route starts at Eric Korevaar’s house in La Jolla and winds along the coast until Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach. Then it cuts over to Mission Bay and follows the boardwalk around Crown Point, eventually meeting up with a Bike Trail, which we will follow to In ‘N Out burger for a milk shake break. We then continue on the bike path up to UCSD, down to the Scripps Pier, and then back along the coast to start point.

Noon-2:00PM: Post-ride lunch at Eric Korevaar’s residence:

The post-ride meal will be at Eric’s house, on the deck overlooking the ocean. Eric will provide hamburgers and hot dogs for the grill (with buns and fixings), along with some simple beverages (water, carbonated flavored water, bottled iced tea). Participants should bring something to share potluck style, such as a salad, a side dish, a desert, or an alternate beverage. (If a participant has special dietary preferences, they should make sure to bring something they can eat as well).
