9:00-9:30AM – Riders gather at our meet-up location
Harvard General Store
1 Still River Rd
Harvard, MA 01451
The gathering place, and start and end points of the ride, is the Harvard General Store. You can buy Gatorade, Nuun tablets, and snacks along with cute local crafty items.
There is a parking lot at the store and also ample parking on the street.
If you arrive early, there are picnic tables outside for breakfast.
9:30AM-Noon – 20-mile group ride. The route is a loop starting and stopping at the Harvard General Store. The route is a mix of scenic country roads, suburban neighborhoods, a small town center (Ayer), a military base (Fort Devens), and a few main roads that could not be avoided but will hopefully be quiet on a Sunday. The alternate route avoids one big hill climb right at the end but at the top is a beautiful vista overlooking local mountains.
Note: Participants in the Club’s GOGO program will earn 20 points for this ride. But there is an opportunity for even more points because the ride takes place during the weekend of ElliptiGO’s virtual charity ride in partnership with Stand Up to Cancer. First, register here and make a donation of $25 or more. Then, select one ride on either September 17th or 18th, put #su2c in the title, and earn 1 point per mile up to 25 miles for the ride. More details about ElliptiGO’s partnership with SU2C here
Noon – 2:00PM – Lunch at The Hyve.
The lunch spot is at the Fruitlands Museum which is a Trustees of the Reservation property. It’s a cute farm-to-table cafe with tables overlooking the mountains underneath an open tent. Folks who want to hang out after lunch can buy tickets to the museum and explore the property. See more here.
