Are you ready to Get Out and GO?

Get Out and GO 2018 (GOGO) is a challenge program modeled after ElliptiGO’s previous “Get on the Map.” 2017’s inaugural edition of GOGO was a rousing success. One hundred GOGO participants from around the world logged more than 170,000 miles seeking fun, leaderboard glory, and GOGO swag. The 2017 leaderboards are here. One of this year’s most exciting events, the month-long Team Challenge, ended after a very tight contest among fives teams for distance, elevation, and days-ridden honors. We hope you look forward to even more fun in the 2018 edition!

GOGO 2018 runs from March 1 through October 31, 2018.

GOGO schedule

  • October 1-31: GO Easy and Cool Down

Following an intense September Team Challenge full of amazing performances, October provides an opportunity take a breather, focus on your training for the World Championship, and welcome the change of seasons. In addition to any October official rides (including the ElliptiGO Rally Weekend and World Championship), here are two challenges to help you add some final GOGO points you might need to reach a 2018 GOGO Award Level:

    Each challenge offers 25 points:

    • 25 pts for a total of 150 or more miles in October
    • 25 pts for at least 10 days in October of at least 1 mile

NOTE: Trainer miles are allowed for these challenges.

  • September 1-30: Team Challenge
During September five teams compete in three riding categories for GOGO points and places on the Eagle Trophy. Complete details here.

  • August 1-31: GO Steady

Anticipating September’s Team Challenge, August provides three basic month-long challenges. In many places, it’s the hottest month. You can enjoy some relaxing days off, if needed, or fine tune your fitness for the Team Challenge.

    Each challenge offers 25 points:

    • 25 pts for a total of 150 or more miles in August
    • 25 pts for a total of 3000 ft of elevation gain in August
    • 25 pts for at least 10 days in August of at least 1 mile

NOTE: Trainer miles are allowed for the distance and days challenges.

  • July 2-29: GOGO IM (Individual Medley) and IECD

July’s GOGO challenge revisits the March, April, May, and June challenges as a medley of one-week mini challenges, with something different each week.

Saturday, July 21st is also International Elliptical Cycling Day (IECD), with extra GOGO points available for any rides on that day.

    • Week 1, July 2-8: DISTANCE
      • 20 pts for 25 miles
      • 30 pts for 50 miles
      • 40 pts for 100 miles

Please note that the start is Monday, July 2, not Sunday July 1.

    • Week 2, July 9-15: ELEVATION*
      • 20 pts for 1000 feet
      • 30 pts for 2500 feet
      • 40 pts for 5000 feet

*Alternative: INCREASED DISTANCE option instead of climbing – 20 pts for 50mi, 30pts for 100mi, 40pts for 150mi

    • Week 3, July 16-22: MINI-EDIM
      • 3 pts for each day of 5 miles
      • 4 pts for each day of 10 miles
      • 6 pts for each day of 20 miles

    • Week 4, July 23-29: #REFLECTION: 8 pts for each ride on Strava with a photo uploaded and a different hashtag in the ride title:
      • #elliptigo
      • #friends
      • #love
      • #indulge
      • #selfie

Note: you may post them in any order.

    • July 21, IECD: 1 pt per mile up to 50 miles.

NOTE: IECD rides may be combined with the weekly challenge, official rides and/or Idai Makaya’s Longest Ride Challenge. For example, a 43 mile official ride on IECD would yield 69 total GOGO points: 20 points (official ride) plus 43 points (IECD) plus 6 points (EDIM).

  • June 1-30: June challenges.
Following Every Day in May, GOGO takes an intensity break in June with
five themed weekly goals. Rather than focusing on distance and
climbing stats, ride with an “attitude of gratitude” and reflect on
    your ElliptiGO experiences.

During any ride take a photo that’s your interpretation of the weekly theme,
add it to your Strava post, and include the weekly hashtag (e.g. #beauty) in
the title of your ride. You’re welcome to share additional thoughts or
explanation in the description of your Strava entry. How does that
long open stretch of road represent #fun? What symbolizes #honor to you?

    WEEKLY THEMES:

    June 1-3. #beauty
    June 4-10. #fun
    June 11-17. #gratitude
    June 18-24. #energy
    June 25-30. #honor

Earn up to 25 points for each weekly theme. Post as many times as you
like, but only one post is required for 25 points and must be posted
with the weekly hashtag in the title before the beginning of the next
week. There are no incorrect posts; it’s entirely up to your
    interpretation.

GERC and/or ElliptiGO may repost or share some or all of the photos
online, so only post photos that you would be comfortable seeing on
    social media.

  • May 1-31: Every Day in May DUO and SOLO. Ride at least 5 miles a days on 25 or more May days to earn GOGO points. This year’s twist: meet the requirements with the help of a partner! See details and sign up for DUO here
